Task Force Group Shot

Here in Jersey City, we're taking another step forward in continuing to fight for our residents, especially when it comes to providing the highest quality of life.

In April of 2019, Mayor Fulop kicked off a monthly interdepartmental inspection day via the Mayor’s Quality of Life Taskforce. Led by Jake Hudnut, Jersey City's Chief Prosecutor, the taskforce is made up of directors and inspectors from Police, Fire, Housing, Public Works, Health, Zoning, Building, Community Development, Emergency Management, and Public Safety.

The task force is a coordinated effort between these agencies to identify and inspect problematic properties in Jersey City that frequently violate quality of life - like neglectful landlords, inattentive property owners, and illegally operating businesses.

As the community reports concerns to the Resident Response Center, the taskforce visits the scenes together, coordinating code and law enforcement and giving our assistant municipal prosecutors the resources needed to get meaningful outcomes to residents’ complaints.
