Ten Jersey City Police Officers honored for providing on-the-ground First Responder Assistance and Humanitarian Aid in Puerto Rico after the Island was devastated by Hurricane Maria

JCPD Volunteers helped Secure and Reinforce Puerto Rico’s Overburdened Police Department at Strategic Locations, Keeping Residents Safe and Maintaining Order amid Grim Conditions


What: Ten Jersey City Police Officers were honored for their relief and recovery efforts while assisting with law enforcement duties in the wake of Hurricane Maria. New Jersey State Police Acting Superintendent Colonel Patrick Callahan presented certificates to the JCPD volunteers, honoring each officer for their assistance to Puerto Rico’s Police Department. During the two-week federally funded relief mission to Puerto Rico last October, the volunteers assisted with providing security at strategic locations throughout the island, increased police presence, and provided aid to residents of the island badly damaged by the hurricane.
