Downtown Traffic Study

Residents of downtown Jersey City have raised concerns about pass-through traffic for vehicles exiting the NJ Turnpike extension to access the Holland Tunnel by passing through downtown Jersey City.

The Department of Infrastructure conducted a traffic study to assess potential improvements to mitigate traffic passing through neighborhoods to access the Holland Tunnel. A community meeting presenting the recommendations was held on January 24, 2023. At this time, the Department is requesting feedback on the recommendations. Please respond to the feedback survey by February 28, 2023.
