Biography

Born and raised in Jersey City. Michael Griffin has spent decades advocating for safer streets, vibrant shopping districts, expanded green spaces, and affordable housing in Jersey City. A staunch defender of residents’ rights, he partnered with local Leaders to pass the “Do Not Knock” ordinance, protecting homeowners from predatory solicitation. His work has consistently prioritized his community. As a former elected committee person under Mayor Glenn Cunningham, Michael developed leadership skills that continue to drive his community-focused initiatives. He has led economic development efforts, such as the Jackson Hill Main Street Special Improvement District, bringing resources and opportunities to underserved neighborhoods. As an advocate for affordable housing, Michael helped secure a 55% affordable housing project in his community. With a proven track record in advocacy and public service, Michael is ready to bring his vision of a stronger, more inclusive future to the City At-Large Council seat.
