This summer the City of Jersey City relaunched ferry service at the Port Liberte Ferry Terminal, providing weekday trips to and from Pier 11/Wall Street in Manhattan.
The City is funding the service through a $4 million grant from the State of New Jersey to support operations and better connect the community to the ferry terminal through transportation options including the Via JC and Citi Bike programs. Grant funding to support this program is administered by the NJ Department of Community Affairs (NJ DCA).

Via JC
Via is Jersey City’s on-demand rideshare service. Trips booked to or from Port Liberte are FREE! Learn more and download the app here: https://city.ridewithvia.com/jersey-city. NOTE: Please be sure to book your Via trip to the terminal at least 30 minutes in advance of the desired ferry departure time.
Bicycle/Scooter
Did you know you can take your bike or scooter on the ferry? Use the new Caven Point Road protected bike lanes to Chapel Avenue. (Additional bike/scooter fee applies.)
Car
There is limited on-street parking on Chapel Avenue near the terminal. If dropping off a passenger, please do not block crosswalks. Proceed to the loop located about 1000 feet east of the terminal to turn around.
Walking
Walking is recommended for Port Liberte residents. For those traveling from NJ TRANSIT Light Rail or other locations in Greenville, please note that Chapel Avenue does not currently have a complete sidewalk. Via JC, biking, or scooting are recommended.

You can use your Port Liberte tickets and passes on the NY Waterway Ferry from Pier 11/ Wall Street to Paulus Hook in Downtown Jersey City. Use Via or public transportation to get where you need to go.
