Requirements to Become a Jersey City Police Officer

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

U.S. citizen and resident of Jersey City
Between 18 and 34 years old
High school diploma or G.E.D.
Valid New Jersey driver’s license

Apply and pass the NJ Civil Service Entry Level Examination
Be a Jersey City resident
Be not less than 18 nor more than 35 years of age
Must be a US Citizen
Must have graduated from high school or vocational high school or possess an approved high school equivalent certificate
Possess a valid driver's license in the state of NJ
Pass a background check, medical examination, drug screening and psychological examination
