MAYOR SOLOMON & PUBLIC SAFETY DIRECTOR LAUNCH CRIME DATA PORTAL, A REAL-TIME PUBLIC DASHBOARD TO STRENGTHEN PUBLIC SAFETY TRANSPARENCY
New dashboard gives residents 24/7 access to key crime data as City advances data-driven policing, strategic deployment, and stronger public communication
JERSEY CITY, NJ (June 11, 2026) — Mayor James Solomon , Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose, and Jersey City Police Department officials announce the launch of the JC IMPACT Crime Data Portal, a new public online dashboard that gives residents direct access to key crime data as part of the administration’s efforts to improve public safety through greater transparency, stronger coordination, and smarter use of data.
JC IMPACT, short for Integrated Metrics for Public Accountability and Community Trust, was officially launched in March to help Jersey City identify public safety concerns earlier, respond more effectively, and focus police resources where they are needed most. The new Crime Data Portal (impact.jcnj.org) is a cornerstone of the initiative, providing residents 24/7 insight into the issues affecting their neighborhoods and the work being done by the police department.
Internally, the data helps JCPD identify crime patterns, emerging concerns, and repeat problem locations to deploy resources more effectively.
“The Crime Data Portal is a public accountability tool,” Mayor Solomon said. “This portal is a direct response to residents’ requests for greater transparency and real-time information, while also equipping our police department with data-driven tools to make smarter decisions about where resources are needed most.”
“Public safety is strongest when we have the right information, the right officers, and the right resources focused in the right places,” said Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose. “Using better data not only enables us to deploy our officers faster and more effectively, but we can also take more targeted action before problems grow.”
The Crime Data Portal also supports several major public safety improvements already underway under JC IMPACT, including:
- Strategic Police Deployment: JCPD is using data, district-level intelligence, incident trends, and community concerns to guide officer deployment and resource allocation.
- Traffic Unit and Motorcycle Unit: JCPD has continued rebuilding the Traffic Division, including the official launch of the revived Motorcycle Unit to support enforcement, crash response, congestion management, pedestrian safety, and targeted deployment.
- 911 Call Center Improvements: On May 14, 2026, Jersey City launched an upgraded 911 system, one of the most critical parts of the City’s public safety infrastructure. The improvements focus on strengthening emergency communications, supporting faster and more accurate call processing, and improving coordination between dispatchers and first responders.
- Official JCPD Social Media Accounts: JCPD has officially launched new social media accounts under the handle @JerseyCity_PD on Instagram and Facebook, with LinkedIn to follow, as part of the City’s continued effort to share alerts, public safety updates, recruitment messaging, community engagement, event highlights, and officer recognition.
“Public safety is strongest when we have the right information, the right officers, and the right resources focused in the right places,” said Police Chief Robert Kearns. “JC IMPACT gives us a stronger framework for how we evaluate public safety, deploy resources, and communicate with the public,”
Through the Crime Data Portal and the broader JC IMPACT initiative, Jersey City is building a more proactive public safety model focused on transparency, coordination, and measurable results.
