Jersey City Municipal Court Marks 25 Years of Service at Summit Avenue Courthouse
JERSEY CITY, NJ (October 29, 2026) — The Jersey City Municipal Court proudly celebrates the 25th anniversary of its presence at 365 Summit Avenue, marking a quarter-century of public service and commitment to the fair and effective administration of justice.
Since establishing its home at 365 Summit Avenue 25 years ago, the Court has served as a vital center for judicial proceedings, public service, and the protection of individual rights. Throughout its history, judges, court staff, attorneys, law enforcement personnel, community stakeholders, and members of the public have contributed to its mission of upholding the rule of law and ensuring equal access to justice.
In 2026, the Jersey City Municipal Court became the largest municipal court in New Jersey, marking a significant milestone in its history. The 25th anniversary ceremony will celebrate this achievement, recognize the individuals whose dedication has shaped the Court, and reflect on its enduring contributions to the Jersey City community. The occasion will also reaffirm the Court’s commitment to fairness, impartiality, integrity, accountability, and equal access to justice.
“Every person who walks through our Municipal Court’s doors deserves to be heard, treated with dignity, and confident that the law will be applied fairly,” said Mayor Solomon. “For 25 years, the judges and staff at 365 Summit Avenue have carried that responsibility. As we mark this anniversary, we honor their service and reaffirm our commitment to a court that is accessible, accountable, and worthy of our community’s trust.”
“Becoming the largest municipal court in New Jersey this year is a significant achievement and a testament to the legacy built over the past 25 years,” said Ramy A. Eid, Chief Judge of the Jersey City Municipal Court. “As we commemorate this anniversary, we celebrate our history and continued growth. Holding this ceremony in October, at the beginning of a new court term, makes the occasion especially meaningful. It allows us to reflect on how far we have come while reaffirming our commitment to meeting future challenges with ingenuity, integrity, professionalism, and an unwavering dedication to public service.”
“This anniversary provides an opportunity to recognize the significance of the Court’s presence at 365 Summit Avenue and honor the many dedicated individuals whose service has sustained its mission over the past quarter-century,” said Wendy Razzoli, Municipal Court Director. “As we celebrate this milestone, we honor our history, express our gratitude to our court colleagues and members of the legal community, and renew our commitment to serving the public with fairness, integrity, and professionalism.”
The ceremony will pay tribute to the judges, court administrators, employees, attorneys, law enforcement personnel, public officials, and other professionals whose collective efforts and support have advanced the Court’s mission. Their contributions underscore the judiciary’s essential role in protecting individual rights, maintaining public confidence, and ensuring that justice remains accessible to all.
As the Court marks 25 years at 365 Summit Avenue, the anniversary serves as both a celebration of past accomplishments and a reaffirmation of its commitment to the future. The Court looks forward to building on its history of service, meeting the evolving needs of the community, and upholding the principles of justice, public trust, and equal treatment under the law.
