Division of Senior Affairs

The Division of Senior Affairs is dedicated to providing quality services to Jersey City's seniors. Senior Affairs coordinates activities like weekly trips to the Newport Mall and downtown ShopRite, free monthly trips to the movies, and free or reduced price senior fitness classes. Senior Affairs also runs two Senior Citizen Centers - the Maureen Collier Center and the Joseph Connors Center. In coordination with the Division of Food and Nutrition, Senior Affairs coordinates with the State and Federal government to obtain and distribute thousands of Farmers Market Nutrition Program vouchers for Jersey City seniors. Seniors are welcomed and encouraged to call or visit the City Hall Annex for assistance with applying to public assistance programs, or learning more about what resources are available.
